| The image on the town seal and ultimately also on the town emblem of Frenstat was that of St. Martin of Tours, to whom the local parish church is dedicated. The first known printing of the Frenstat district seal is found in a document dated January 12, 1619. The oldest known seal was destroyed probably during the burning and sacking of Frenstat by Hungarian troops in June 1680. Over the ages the design of the seal has gone through many
