The
town square |
|

|
The whole area is surrounded by middle - class houses dating from 17th - 19th century. The houses were built in pseudo-baroque, pseudo-renaissance and pseudo-gothic style.
In its south-western side there is a well-preserved archway the pavements of which are laid with pebbles.

Town

This neo-romantic building built in
1891 dominates the square.
In the front you can see a sand-stone symbol of the town – St. Martin – and relieves of J. A. Komensky, J. Jungman, F. Palacky and B. Jablonsky.
In the hall there is an original statue of Slavonic scholars – the brothers
Cyril and Method, Radegast and others {by A. Polasek}, a
relief called “Economy” {by J. Knebl and a tablet in memory of the victims of WW2.
Outside on the wall of the building you can notice a tablet commemorating our outstanding Olympic champion in ski-jumping Jiri Raska – born in frenstat {by K.

stone well with Nephtun

The construction of which is connected with linking up of the town water supply in 1840.
It's surrounded by groups of limes. Together with one of them called "Lime of Liberty" planted out in 1918 makes the historical center of the town |

| ST.FLORIAN´S
STATUE

| A sand-stone statue - made in baroque style in 1773 - of St. Florian who is a patron saint of firemen - placed in upper side of the square.

early -baroque style in 1686 is situated on the bottom part of the square

| ST.
JOHN BAPTIST´S CHURCH
|
|

|
This early baroque church was rebuilt to late baroque style in 1634.
Inside the church there is an impressive half-sculpture of Christ's head -
"Suffering" and paintings "Crucified Way" {author A. Polasek}. The baroque stone crucifix was built in 1753. The limes were planted in 1862.

| ST.
MARTIN´S CHURCH
|
|

|
It was built after the fire in 1661. Inside the church there is a chapel of St. Barbara and St. John Nepomucky, a beautiful pendant picture of Valasska Madonna by A. Liebscher and folk wooden Valassko scene of the Nativity by J. Knebl.
You can also see a monumental monstrance dating from 1630 there.

school built in 1876 - second czech school in
Moravia.
Today is there situated a museum which is
closed due to reconstruction.
